It may only be spring, but the apples are falling. In price, that is! We may be an iPhone site, but we couldn’t let this go by without shouting about it. Apple have just announced a refresh of their MacBook, iMac and Mac Mini product lines and they bring with them substantial savings over last year’s range. If you’re in the market for a new computer, now looks like a pretty spectacular time to do it.

The highlights include a new entry-level MacBook which is still white plastic but this time it’s unibody in form, meaning no seams or joins just like its big brother the aluminium MacBook Pro. It drops in price from $1999 to $1699.

The iMac range has been refreshed with gorgeous 16:9 screens and the new Magic Mouse – a wireless bluetooth mouse / trackpad hybrid that brings multi-touch to desktop Macs for the first time. iMacs now start at $1999 (previously $2399) with the Magic Mouse also being available separately for a respectable $119.
