New! Suggest-an-app
As you know, at iPhonewzealand, part of our mission is to support the iPhone user and development community in New Zealand. We’ve received many emails from users with ideas for apps that have asked ‘how do we get this idea to somebody who can make it a reality?’ and we’ve not really been in a position to help make that connection. Well, today we’re fixing that.
Today we are announcing a new feature on our site called ‘Suggest-an-App’. It’s an initiative that will allow our users to make connections with some of the brightest kiwi developers who will be watching for ideas that they think could make it to the App Store.
Here’s how it works. In our forum you’ll find a new category called ‘Suggest-an-App.’ if you haven’t already, register with our site for a login so that you can post your idea. You can describe your idea in full, or you can give away just enough info to give the devs the gist of what you want to do without giving it all away.
Developers will have the ability to monitor the suggestions put forward and if they’re interested they may contact you to take things further. We won’t be involved with what happens next – that will be between you and the developer.
The developers watching the suggestions include Peter Watling of Orsome, the guys at Smudge Apps and many more. These guys are at the forefront of the dev community, so your ideas will be in good hands.
At this stage we would not be seeking any kind of payment or otherwise for this initiative – we believe that the community as a whole will benefit from this kind of service and we will all enjoy the knock-on effects of a buoyant local community. All we would ask is that if an idea turns into an app that you let us know and let us have the first opportunity to preview / review it.
So for all of you with burning wish-lists, get going. Good luck!
