Update available.... with a name change

After submitting our original version to the App Store, we realised there were a few additions to the app that were needed. So finally here it is… V 1.0.2I say finally because after we submitted the update Apple rejected it, why? because of the name of the App (iPhonewzealand). So after a number of emails back and forth and a phone call from Apple, it looked as though we would have to change everything. But it seems all we needed to change was the name… hence it is now called ‘NZ Essentials by iPhonewzealand’. Why this is any better than the previous name I don’t know, but it has passed Apple’s stringent tests and is now available.

So what’s so different? Well nothing major has changed, it is mainly just a three small additions, some code clean-up and the name change.

The first thing we added was  links to reviews (where applicable) so you can now just hit the review button and be taken to the review on the website, through webview.

Secondly we added the ability to download the Lite version (where available) or the Full Version of apps.

And finally we added a ‘Shake to Refresh’ on the featured page, which will change the featured item.

One thing to note is that for me it didn’t show as an update…. instead as a fresh install, but it did just replace the old version. Not sure why this is but I think there may be issues with the store at the moment (Sygic update wouldn’t show under US store only NZ store from the iPhone).

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, FYI still no prices in this version, again this is because they are forever changing and would require us to be constantly monitoring the prices, we have taken the decision not to add this in so we don’t run in to trouble with wrong prices listed.
