Carrier logo M.I.A
As you may be aware we don’t support jailbreaking here at iPhonezealand so you may be asking why we are posting about this? Well we do support our Carrier Bundles and a number of people have been asking about lost carrier logos after they have jailbroken. Hopefully this post will give you a heads up about how you can resolve the issue.
iPhonewzealand user Mak came across the issue after jailbreaking 3.1.
Recently after updating my iPhone to version 3.1 (via the new version of PwnageTool by the Dev-Team), I noticed my custom XT carrier logo had disappeared. After a bit of searching and IRCing, I found the solution. The issue lies with the way the phone interprets the carrier.plist file inside a carrier bundle
So how do you fix it? You need to edit the carrier.plist file that is located in the carrier bundle for your provider. Hit up the link below to head over to Mak’s site [mak.geek.nz] to find out how.

Hi.
This only happens if your baseband does not match the firmware version. Prior to 3.1 we had baseband 04.26.08 When using pwnagetool it preserves the older baseband when upgrading firmware. (this is useful for unlocking). Since all NZ phones are already unlocked we don't need to worry about this. If you really want to solve the problem then restore to factory 3.1.2 firware. (this will update your baseband) Then run pwnagetool again to jailbreak. You will now have the newest baseband (05.11.07) to match your firmware and you will have your carrier logo/information back. hope this makes sense : )

Ah, that makes sense. Cheers shmac, I’ll make a note of that on my blog post.
