Hi nice wallpaper, where did you get it?

It was one I created
This is awesome! My iPhone 3GS is coming from Apple, hoping for it early next week. I can't wait to load this software onto it.
AMAZING website by the way! So handy!

Glad you like the site, don't forget to tell every one about it
Also don't forget we have an iPhone optimised version of the site. Just visit the site from your iPhone and it'll automatically take you there.
I would love to hear if anyone has successfully roamed after doing this!
(alikat has made 15 comments)
I can confirm the bundle DOES allow roaming (at least in OZ).
Was there yesterday, all worked fine.

@Richard – thank you for confirming that for us, appreciate it.

3.1 beta 2 disables tethering on non-approved carriers…i.e XT and 2D.
More info here
Cheers

Hi. I dont have 3.1b2 with me, however I read that if you set the version of the ipcc higher than the version thats in the firmware/ipsw then your custom settings take precendence.
Anyone with 3.1b2 willing to try this out?
(acsonline has made 6 comments)
@acsonline Thanks for the tip, we will test later today and report back.
Note: in OSX you MUST use ‘Get Info’ to change the file name if it saves it as a .zip, you can’t just click the file and remove the .zip extn.
Hi, can I put these settings onto my phone MANUALLY if I want to? If so, is there a list of the settings somewhere?
Also, how do I get back to Vodafone settings if I have to do that with my iPhone?
Finally – you talk about this update possibly affecting roaming – is that a permanent problem or is it possible that later updates would fix this issue?

The only things you can manually add are MMS and Data.
The Voicemail button, Xt Logos, Tethering ad a few other bits all need to be done through the carrier bundle.
Personally I recommend you add the settings through the carrier bundle. If you don’t want to have the XT Logo then the second option of just the text XT can be used.
We are working on confirming roaming in all countries. It is my belief that it works, but Telecom have asked me to advise people that it may not. Once it is tested in Europe, if it works, we will remove the warnings. If it doesn’t we will continue to work on a fix for it.
If you want to go back to the Voda settings you just need to swicth your phone off, put your SIM card in and switch back on. All the settings for all official carriers are already stored on the device.
Thanks Dan,
Just finished reading the 23 pages on GZ. Someone (maybe me) needs to collate all the sum knowledge into a FAQs!!
Hopefully it all goes smoothly when I get my new XT SIM in the mail tomorrow.
P.S. When are you next doing an XT vs. VF3G speed test? It was your results that compelled me to get an XT sim

If you want to do a FAQs we will post them here for you, just send them in an email for us.
Next speed test comparison coming soon. Possibly even tomorrow.
Cheers Dan, I'm currently halfway through reading TWENTY THREE pages of the Geekzone thread (!!).
Is there any "harm" that this update could cause?
And could you please confirm – IF this update "breaks" roaming (which isn't important to me currently), then are you saying that a future update could fix it? ie. the damage is not permanent?
Finally – so basically installing this lets me "SIM hop" between XT and VF sims just by a simple power cycle?
Cheers.

This will do no harm to your device. I repeat NO HARM
Yes a future update to the bundle could fix the roaming issue (if there is one). But as I say, I don't think there is an issue. I am 99% sure roaming will work.
It doesn't cause 'damage' and if you ever wanted to remove the bundle, just because you decided you didn't want it anymore, then you could just do a restore of your iPhone and it will be gone.
It does more than let you just SIM hop, you can do that without the bundle. This adds extras, like the MMS settings, Data Settings, Tethering Settings, XT Logo, Shortcuts to *123/*333/Your Telecom, activates the voicemail button to dial voicemail (without it the button does nothing).
Thanks Dan
One final question before I go to bed. As a new Telecom customer (well soon to be), I don't know how "Tworld" works. The website says that this is WAP based.
Does it work on the iPhone/does this update set the WAP settings?
(ahmad has made 101 comments)
Oh and I forgot to add. I'm running 3.0 with jailbreak (PwnageTool) because I wanted to be able to turn data on/off using SBSettings.
Am I good to go with the update or do I need to be aware of anything if I am jailbroken (iPhone 3G).
Thanks.
(ahmad has made 101 comments)
Only certain parts of Tworld can be accessed on the iPhone. Once you have added the bundle, under Settings–>Phone there is an option for 'Telecom Services' and under that you will see an option for 'Your Telecom 3G'. If you press that it will take you to the your account part of TWorld, ask you to login (with your mobile # and a password you will set when you first go in to it) and will show you your Data, Text and call usage. You can navigate to some other areas whilst there but not much. apparently Telecom are working on enabling more of TWorld through the iPhone.
The iPhone doesn't do WAP, it does full web browsing. hence why only some parts of TWorld work.
NOTE: This is only available when you are on 3G and doesn't work over Wi-Fi.
The update works fine with jailbroken devices, but please note: we offer no support for and do not endorse jailbreaking on this site
