2degrees Mobile
2degrees Mobile have been in touch today to let us know they are going to be holding a ‘press event’ tomorrow at midday at 4pm today. It is to be held at their head office in Auckland and they will be making a statement regarding “mobile data”. All we know at this stage is that it is not related to the launch of their 3G network, which is scheduled for later this year.
We can only speculate as to what will be announced – perhaps plans or cheaper casual rates but as soon as the press release is available we’ll post the details here.

2D know that they have been unable to attract Smartphone users and that a number of users who have migrated to 2D previously are now leaving again once they find out how much the data costs and/or they trade-up to a Smartphone.
Of course they still need the 3G goodness to kick-in soon as poss…

Is today tomorrow yet? Maybe they are going to announce data roaming on XT? Haha doubt it, only iPhone or other XT handset users would be able to capitalise on that!
