2degrees showing off and testing their MicroSIMs… no date yet for public launch

2degrees MicroSIMs are coming

This escaped our attention last week, but it would seem that 2degrees have been testing their new MicroSIMs in an iPad and showing off them off via twitter.

Seeing as news on MicroSIM release dates is circulating we thought we’d ask them when they are coming but unfortunately they couldn’t give us a date for the public release. What we do know from the images above is that they will be available soon and all those users on 2degrees will be able to use their iPhone 4 and iPad with an official MicroSIM.

The question on my mind is does it make a difference if your provider has an “official” MicroSIM or not? If it’s going to cost you $20-$30 to get one would you not be just as well off to carve your own?

    Yep, agreed with above.

Without 3G, micro sim for i-anything isn’t really much use.

I would suggest a 3G/MicroSIM dual launch. Would make sense.

My Iphone and Ipad both showing it’s on 3G network since yesterday. Both are on 2degrees SIM. Vodafone’s bill was too high and thank goodness I didn’t get Telecom’s XT T-stick.

I am in St Heliers area, Auckland. But it’s troublesome everytime I need to top up my Ipad credits. Does anyone know whether the pacific islands like Fiji, Vanuatu, New Cal have 3g networks? I am abit puzzled, some said yes and no.
