Mac mini facelift
Not iPhone related as such, but here’s further proof (if it were needed) that Apple really has taken their focus off of the Mac in favour of iOS devices. At WWDC, Safari 5 was launched without any fanfare whatsoever, and now the Mac mini has had a pretty radical overhaul and has been plopped rather unceremoniously onto the Apple Store. Sporting a new aluminium unibody case, HDMI port (finally!) and beefed up GPU, it’s the kind of update that once would have been announced by Steve himself at a keynote. It’s now the perfect way to play all those Steam games, listen to your iTunes music, watch movie rentals and show off the HD videos you’ve shot with your iPhone 4 on your HDTV.
Mac mini is available now in two configurations on the NZ store – 2.4Ghz Core2Duo / 2GB RAM / 320GB HDD for $1299 or 2.66Ghz Core2Duo / 4GB RAM / 500GB HDD for $1848. Both of these base configurations can then be further customised with more RAM etc once selected.
