iPhone 4 brings HD video and iMovie
Among the new features of the iPhone 4 is the ability to record videos and edit them in up to 720p HD. We take a look at what you can do with these fine new features.
When Steve Jobs called Randy Ubillos up to the stage, we knew something big was about to happen. Randy is a senior video software architect for Apple and primarily works with the Final Cut suite. What he had to offer was something unique, useful and impressive at the same time – iMovie for iPhone.

Steve introduces iMovie for iPhone
iMovie enables you to edit video that you record on the device and render it as high quality HD. The interface is sleek and elegant, as you would expect from Apple, whilst maintaining and introducing a lot of functionality.
As well as video, still images can be added to the timeline while editing. These are automatically given the Ken Burns effect.

To accompany the streamlined editing interface is the ability to add various titles to your video. It’s all there, just as you would expect.

Adding titles
Now, here comes the cool stuff. Using the iPhone’s location services, iMovie can determine a theme for your video based on where the clips were recorded.
There are 5 themes available and when the theme changes, the transitions change also.
Once you have finished editing you can export your video as one of three types. Medium (360p), Large (540p) and HD (720p). Obviously the higher the quality the more space the video will take up.

Oh the choices!
