iOS is over 300mb so gonna take a while to download…will update when installed.

Do we know what iTunes 9.2 is meant to offer? Maybe Folder support?

Hi, with all of the excitement around iOS4 do we know if when using bluetooth headphones we can actually use the bluetooth buttons to skip tracks etc? This is currently limited I believe under iPhone 3.1.

I dont know if anyone else has seen this or if its just me – on the apple iphone 4 techs & specs page the system requirements for mac are as follows :

Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
iTunes 9.2 or later (free download from http://www.itunes.com/nz/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access

is this itunes.com url download link the sign of more things to come this week?

  4. camtab says:

@ luke: Not really sure what you might be suggesting but that link is simply where you download iTunes and has always been the location. Its not an online version of iTunes if that is what you were thinking.

I was thinking of something along those line. Ive just been reading up on macrumors and there has been some speculation around the possible release of a cloud based itunes? just makes me think there might be more to come sometime soon?

Found the answer to my own question:

    What's new in iTunes 9.2

iTunes 9.2 comes with several new features and improvements, including:

    • Sync with iPhone 4 to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on-the-go

    • Sync and read books with iPhone or iPod touch with iPhone OS 4 and iBooks 1.1

    • Organize and sync PDF documents as books. Read PDFs with iBooks 1.1 on iPad and any iPhone or iPod touch with iPhone OS 4

    • Organize your apps on your iPhone OS 4 home screens into folders using iTunes

    • Faster back-ups while syncing an iPhone or iPod touch with iPhone OS 4

    • Performance improvements make scrolling much faster

@ luke: As Camtab says, that has always been the URL to download iTunes from. I know there has been talk of ‘iTunes.com’ as branding for some sort of cloud based music service but Apple have owned and advertised the domain for years now. It’s nothing new, so you can’t read into anything into it.

one thing ive noticed about iOS4 is on the iPhone 3G i cannot set home screen wallpapers, this is wired surely the hardware requirements are not affecting something as simple as this, very interesting

The GM works for the general public if you have iTunes 9.2 (Mac only) – I’m not a developer and just updated my phone to iOS 4 – http://gumballtech.com/2010/06/07/download-ios4iphone-os-4-0-gm-here-itunes-9-2-beta-included/

    @ Steve:
Any Idea if the latest Telecom bundle that you guys have released will work with the new upgrae iOS4

  16. Daniel Burgess says:

@ alopes: The 3.1.3 bundle does not work with iOS 4.

  17. Dezroy says:

    @ jnimmo:
Mate! Thanks for that link, I’d heard that iOS 4.0 wasn’t locked to devs but I wasn’t sure how to get my hands on the 9.2 beta.

I’m downloading the files now, I hope I haven’t misread something and I still need a dev pass to install the 9.2beta

    Thanks again.

  18. Allan says:

Wow, I installed the GM last night. Sooo much faster than the betas, Feels very finished which is nice, It's cool that it only took 4 betas to get it right!

  19. alopes says:

@ Dezroy: I have installed the NEW iOS4 on my iPhone 3Gs and it works like a charm. I had to however manually enter the settings for data that are available under the Telecom manual settings. Thanks to iPhonenewzealand.

IMPORTANT: You can only install it if you have a Mac, coz you have to first install iTunes 9.2 on your Mac and then the NEW iOS4 software, The link is made available by Jinmmo in his blog (above) So for those of you that have Windows PC's you will have to wait for a couple of days for Apple to launch it as you wont be able to do it yet.

You do not need to be a developer to install it.
