I just called Apple because I noticed that the money they’d ear marked for my phone was no longer ear marked.
They assured me that my phone was still on order and that they will take the money the day before they ship it out.
My dates are:
Shipping – 20th Aug
Delivery – 26th Aug
However, he told me to make sure the funds are available by 14th Aug as delivery will probably be 20th Aug
He also mentioned that they are giving NZ’ers priority shipping on web orders.
Be nice to finally get the phone and see what all the fuss is about!

I ordered my 16gb iphone 4 on the first day and it says shipping commences 20/8/10
My money also was ‘airmarked’ and then returned to my debit plus card which caused some panic until I read the payment information on the nz apple store website

with debit cards, the card won’t be charged until shipping takes place.
As for the rumoured 7 days early shipping, i can only hope and wait.

Apple is just amazing, they didn’t charge my account until I usually had my goods delivered!… I cancelled my iphone 4 order after I got one from Vodafone last week and that went without any hassle whatsoever

@mrs_kiwi I also hope you got a good apple rep with good info, as I just rang them myself about the money still being in my account and I was told shipping on the 20th and delivery on the 26th, I asked if it would be any earlier & he just laughed & and said no you will get a confirmation email on the 20th to tell you it has shipped and how you can track it. So I guess we will have to wait 4 days and hope what you were told is correct fingers crossed.

The rep couldn’t say anything officially, but I told him that I’d move the money into my savings account so it didn’t get spent and then I said that I’d put it back on the 20th, he said “I’d have it there on the 14th if I were you”, I laughed and said I’ll expect it earlier then and he said “Maybe a few days”! I will let you know if the money comes out early, I’m hoping.
Oh and I picked up my Telecom mini sim today, in preparation, Telecom Palmy have bucket loads and they’ll sell you the sim on it’s own with no number so you can port your number when you get the phone. $19.95.

lets hope so. is it true that you can purchase a 32gb from vodafone cancel the contract and still get it cheaper than the apple store?
At the moment i am pondering which network to put it on. I have to choose between XT or 2degrees. I am with 2 degrees now and am very pleased with the new 3g service, or is XT simply a better network for all the features of the iphone 4?

@ ch33kydarkie: The rep I spoke to said that if the payment was declined, they would get in touch, your order wouldn’t be cancelled without speaking with you, but it might be delayed.

Hi guys,
Just wondering, i ordered the 32gb iphone4 off Apple website, and it says "shipping 23rd August, "arrives 27th August. I have spent some of the money Ive saved for the iphone4 and now people are saying shipping may be earlier and that you will need the money in your account early. I will have the money on the 19th August, and I'm just wondering if they do ship early and I don't have the money, can they cancel my order even though they have told me its shipping on the 23rd? Cheers

Some people overseas are seeing their phones ship 6 or 7 days early. But others aren't

Even though NZ, Oz and Hong Kong all had the iPhone launched online on the same day, a lot of people in Hong Kong got their phones shipped on 10th and Oz on 16th. Not a single for NZ.
