Anyone else that pre-registered with Vodafone just received an email titled “All you need to know about Vodafone’s Micro SIM for Apple”? If so you may not have read all of it and may have missed something interesting at the bottom and whilst not a firm date at least we have better timeline.
Unfortunately it is again more announcements of announcements, but this is the first time we’ve had any real timeframe of the announcement (damn this is hard work).
Oh, and the email also contains some stuff about the Micro SIM and what you need to do.

Never a good sign, after the Apple conference there were people asking Vodafone NZ on twitter about the July 30th release and the tweeter from Voda (granted only a selection of representatives) had no idea where they got that date from. Now this, an update has been sent OTA (arghhh not that ol kettle of fish again..hehe) and the Vodafone reps again have no idea why it was sent or what functions it adds. You would think the guys and gals at Vodafone charged with answering the twitter account should know whats what or know where to find the answers. Anyone know what it does activate? (Visual Voicemail?)

Went into Vodafone at Sylvia Park today & they still have no info about the iPhone 4 launch date or pricing. In fact the person in the store said he wasn't sure that it would be the 30th July. Is it possible that Apple could still delay it into August, citing some last minute supply issues.
The Apple Online stores worldwide showed shipping dates of 7-10 days up until about 2-3 weeks ago, when it was pushed out to 3 weeks everywhere.
I suspect that the NZ launch will be 30th July, but stock will be extremely limited, possibly with sellouts everywhere within a couple of hours of the doors opening. After that it will be back to 3 week lead times for new stock.

more likely they will use the date announcement that Jobs forced on them as covering off that and leave us hanging in the wind for another couple of days. What do we think of the chances of some new Iphone plans?
