iPhone, iPad, Chopper 2 and a 42″ TV = Awesome! [video]

Chopper 2 on the tellie!

Have you ever wanted to control an iPad game with your iPhone? and have you ever thought it would be super cool to play that game on your 42″ TV?

Well Kiwi developer Dave Frampton of Majic Jungle Software did and so he coded it in to his latest title, Chopper 2 (which is still under development).

Hit the read more for the video of Dave playing Chopper 2 on his iPad, viewed on his 42″ TV and controlled by his iPhone.

Seriously Cool:

Dave points out that this is proof-of-concept only at this stage, but it is a proof-of-concept that I would love to see turn in to reality.

The video is output from the iPad via the Apple Component Cable and the iPhone is connected via Bluetooth allowing him to control the game. The best part is this has all been done with Public API’s available in SDK 3.2 and up.

I know I’ll be getting this game when it comes out, not sure my wife will be too pleased about me taking over the TV, but hey….. it’s my iPad connected to the tellie playing a game controlled by my iPhone. Awesome!

Here’s hoping more and more developers using this in their apps and not just gaming apps, there are plenty of opportunities for other apps to incorporate this.

Let us know what you think in the comments below. What apps would you like to see with this ability?

Very Cool!!! One question…is the displaying the game on the TV all part of this app specifically or can anyone plug an Apple Component Cable into their Ipad and have the images (not just video) displayed on a larger screen?

    @ camtab:
It is specific to apps that have it coded. So only if the dev chooses to allow you to output via component cable.
