Ok great to have some acknowledgment but that is a an amateur press release that just proves nz’s place in the food chain. There is already a 8GB 3GS so not new and they give one dollar amount with no figure for the 32GB… It’s like it was an after thought to add some price details to the end of the same announcement we already knew.

I guess drip fed is better than starved but it’s pretty tedious going.

Great news to wake up to. I love how we know everything before the “official” carrier has said a word. I can see Vodafone’s tweets today already “Get the inside scoop on the new iPhone here” ……..Er thanks Voda, as usual more than useless.

Where did you find that press release? I was interested to see what the Australian one (or any other country) said but cant find them on any of the sites other than the US one which doesnt mention any price details.

Any concern that the 32GB has been left off the release? Chance that we will only get 16GB in the initial release?

All the other 16 countries that are getting them on the 30th also don’t know there pricing either, I think the price of the 16gb is cheaper than I was expecting & maybe the 32gb was left off for a reason, hype people up on the 16gb price and have speculations flying around & then we get slapped in the face with a bigger price tag maybe. Just a guess but certianly looking forward to it.

Might need to consider 32GB as this now shoots HD video and can easily fill the 16GB 3G.
Vodafone AU are announcing plans on Wednesday, will be interesting to see if NZ do the same.
The irony of the picture above with so called ‘deathgrip’ :)

ps I have some spare microsim adaptors, so if you are interested in splitting the cost let me know (not profiteering).

Apple emailed us with the release – not sure how you could get hold of a copy of the aussie one, but I’m sure one of their sites will have the details later today when it’s a sociable hour there. I wouldn’t read too much into the press release leaving off the 32GB pricing, to me this reads as more of a confirmation of the date that happens to mention the price of one of the units rather than a document whose sole purpose was to announce the pricing. I’m sure it won’t be long until the price is known. I predicted $1059 for the 16GB in my article here and wasn’t too far off the mark. My prediction for the 32GB was $1229.

  16. camtab says:

@ Steve: Thanks for that. Yeah I found an Aussie blog who mentioned it was just emailed to select outlets so kind of at ease that it really was, at you point out, a confirmation of date rather than price. Your prediction was very good so well done there and fingers crossed we get some more updates today to prove your 32GB correct as well
