Goodbye random data use!
Tired of editing your APN to disable cellular data? Used the workarounds but some data is still slipping through? Well never fear, proper cellular data blocking is here! – on OS4.
For some people, perhaps now one of the most compelling features of OS4 is an on/off toggle to enable or disable cellular data from being used by the device. So long the days of manually setting fake APNs deep in the settings interface and using workarounds which didn’t quite disable everything from getting through.
The feature is only available on iPhone OS 4.0 which is a closed BETA for registered Apple developers only. The public release of the firmware is likely to be late Winter.

Brilliant for Prepay iPhone users, i suspect you still may need to flick this to on to still use Wifi when you wish

It’s only for Cellular data
Please only use this post to discuss the Data toggle feature. OS4 discussion in general can go in the post for that. Cheers.
Does that mean you can travel without incurring data fees if it is toggled off?

Yes, but this is for all cellular data, not just roaming data (there is a separate switch for that though and it is also in 3.x.x)
