After looking at the case though it doesn't seem like it would scratch it as there is padding between the zip and the gap where the device would go. Also as it is larger than the iPad there is more room for getting it in and out.

I was exploring exactly these options for my iPad I have on order (from the US – so yeah, I will get it soonish, once the 3G ones come out).

One thing to consider, is the zip. I have a similar case (soft) for my MacBook Air, but avoided all the zip based ones in case of scratches, so went for the envelope style with velcro closure.

Is the Zip “scratch free” ? :-)
