Clearly not enough stock
Those of you hoping to get your hands on an iphone 4 today are now out of luck. Vodafone just tweeted “^PB All iPhone4 stock sold out. More stock coming soon.”
Clearly the low supply levels are what led to this mornings debacle, seeing Vodafone only want to sell to its on-account customers. Clearly Apple didn’t supply Vodafone with enough stock and Vodafone didn’t supply their customers with enough details. Fail on both fronts really.
So sorry for all those that missed out, it looks like there will be another wait. How long that wait will be is anyone’s guess. Maybe Vodafone could let us know.

Yep. I got one of the first from vodafone Colombo today. Was lucky to get told they only had 48 so the manager got me one sorted earlier haha. Really enjoying it. Leaves my 3G for dust!

I got one!!!! Only had to wait 1.5h hours in Vodafone Johnsonville. Queued with my 4 & 6 yr old kids – that’s how much I wanted this phone! Luckily had my 3GS and iPad to entertain them

Its Rohan Kumar here… the guy quoted in the NZ Herald article. When I got mine today, I was told that more stock will probably take 2-3 weeks as it really was a problem with the shipping.

Store has changed… Slightly. NO LONGER COMING SOON! It is displaying both sizes, and “Estimated Ship Time”. No buy option, prices or ship times yet though…

My wife got one, she was 2nd in line at Vodafone Chartwell (Hamilton), she only joined the line at 11am and was home at 12:17pm syncing up.
I (sort of) got one from MagnumMac Hamilton, rocked in at midday and there was only about 8 people there. Trouble is I’m moving back from XT so it’s gonna take 3-5 days for Vodafone to port the number over (and only then am I allowed the phone).
Apparently there was only 25 at each store. That’s only 50 for all of Hamilton!!

Can anyone loan me an iphone4 for a few hours. We develop iPhone cases and require an iphone4 for a measuring and fitting test. We are happy to pay $150 or so for this. We have an iPhone4 ordered but 4 weeks is too long for us to wait.
