Alarm clock glitch fixed in iOS 4.2 beta 2

Alarm clock fixed!

If your body clock is still reeling from this week’s unwelcome surprise, you’ll be as glad as I was to learn that the issue is fixed in iOS 4.2 beta 2 which hit the internets just hours ago. The final release isn’t set to go live until November, so you’ll need to get creative in the meantime but it’s good to know that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey so can anyone confirm: it seems that today the alarm bug has come right… I know it wasn’t working yesterday but today my recurring alarm went off at the time it was set for… I’m sure someone on the other thread predicted this. Make sure to correct your alarms if you set them an hour later everyone!

Just checked my iPhone 3GS, it worked all right. But Anybody out there knows how this issue was fixed? Did Apple fix it online without any notice to save their face?

Probably something to do with somewhere in the US moving to daylight savings too

Hmmm well this gets curiouser and curiouser… I tried last night and the alarm seemed to be fixed too. Set a recurring alarm as a test and it went off fine. So went to bed last night with my alarm set for 5:50am recurring every week day… and it went off at 4:40am. I’m going to approach Apple for comment.

  16. huntfish says:

Same here, I have now reverted to setting alarm for an hour later and works fine.

  17. irncpl says:

Tested and worked fine on both 3GS and 4 so set recurring alarms on both for 0615. However, next morning, 3GS went of an hour early but 4 was fine.
