We’re starting to get reports from people whose iPhone 4 orders had 20th August as the ‘ships’ date are now showing a status of ‘Prepared for Shipment’. According to the Apple website, that means that “your items have already been prepared for shipment and cannot be changed online or by our customer service department.” I just checked my own and sure enough, it would seem there’s a little iPhone 4 with my name on it sat somewhere ready to be dispatched. Glad both Joe and brydon agreed with me. I think it makes sense when you think about it, like the "AUS" code meaning Australian power plugs. The Apple page mentions the phone being unlocked, ready to run on any network, just put a sim card in :

I seriously think that people WITHOUT a Micro Sim will be able to at least USE non network related functions, syncing photos, music, using Apps on Wifi etc, by dismissing the No Sim notification, it might keep appearing though.
I would highly recommend that these people grab a 2 Degrees Micro Sim for 20 dollars, bugger all when you're getting a 1300 dollar phone…
, at least until they can get a Telecom or Vodafone Micro Sim. Until recently, I was FREAKING OUT about not being able to get a Voda or Telecom Micro Sim, I'm very glad I have this 2 Degrees sim…the thing is TINY…seriously…
Wont be long guys, I've been staying calm over everything by talking with friends overseas, who grew up in the former Soviet Union, moving to England at a young age, seeing movie theatres, massive screens…the cars…stable government… we should all be so glad to live in New Zealand, sure, we feel ripped off with Gadgets, I truly believe we were screwed over by Vodafone, just a "hey guys, iPhone 4's will be sold in decent amounts starting on X of X 2010" would have kept me happy…. but lets be happy for what we have right NOW, and what we will have REALLY SOON! iPhone 4's!

@ lakeview01: I somehow doubt that. All NZ consignments and Aussie left at the same time e.g. everyones tracking info is reporting same location at similar times

Well I'm pretty stoked because my 32Gb iPhone 4 wasn't due to ship until 23rd of August, but it looks like it was bundled in with all of you who ordered on the 30th of July, so I'm not complaining that Apple shipped it three days early for me (about 5 minutes ago, and I presume all others who weren't expecting it until next Friday had it shipped today as well). There's an iPhone 4 in a little black box headed my way in Chinese waters as we speak.

Also for those of you after a XT microsim, most auckland stores got more stock in today (got calls from two stores saying the had some in for me) so you best be quick and pick them up if you want to miss the rush come next week once everyone has got their phones.

Just checked mine which was always meant to ship on the 20th of the month, it still says prepared for shipment.

Just went to go check my tracking order for my iphone 4 and it says it has been picked up from Auckland depot and in transit to Hawkesbay so it will be here 2moro!!!!

Just an update on micro sim's, I went to telecom in riccaton mall 3 times over the last 3 weeks & tried to get 1, on 2 occasions they had them but said I could not buy 1 as I needed to put a number on it or port my number to it, I could not buy it blank. I went to telecom horny mall today & they had them & sold me 1 no question asked, it is blank & I can go back there next week when I am ready to port my number onto it. Thanks horny telecom, so if anyone needs 1 I would suggest you try there first.
