Back at the end of last month, we reported that Telecom were to roll-out new SIM cards that would fix the non-functioning voicemail-button issue that has plagued iPhone owners on XT since updating to iOS 4 without our carrier bundle. Now, a source within Telecom has tonight (incorrectly – see update) confirmed that the erroneously-set MBDN field on their V1 and V2 SIM cards will be fixed via an over-the-air (OTA) update by the end of July, allowing iPhone users to set their Voicemail number.

iOS fansite, ModMyi, has published what seems to be an internal memo from AT&T to their staff regarding the launch of the iPhone 4.
It appears that only the black version of the iPhone 4 will be available to customers at launch and via pre-orders. It is unclear at this stage why the restrictions have been imposed, but AT&T say that the white versions of the iPhone 4 will be coming “late summer” in the US. Check it out after the ‘read more’.

2degrees Mobile have been in touch today to let us know they are going to be holding a ‘press event’ tomorrow at midday at 4pm today. It is to be held at their head office in Auckland and they will be making a statement regarding “mobile data”. All we know at this stage is that it is not related to the launch of their 3G network, which is scheduled for later this year.
We can only speculate as to what will be announced – perhaps plans or cheaper casual rates but as soon as the press release is available we’ll post the details here.
