We weren’t going to post about Apple’s Back to the Mac event, assuming it would be irrelevant to iOS devices… we were wrong! Like never before, Apple are converging their two platforms to bring the user experiences and capabilities closer together. FaceTime for Mac launches today in beta form (yay!), iLife ’11 goes on sale today with a new version of iPhoto that very closely resembles the Photos app on iPad, and an App Store for Mac with the same one-click-install and home screen icons as iOS is coming within the next 90 days. Keep reading for the details.…

It’s hard to believe that the site has been going for a whole year, but it’s true! Indulge us, won’t you, as we take a trip down memory lane and pick out our highlights from the past year. If you’re feeling generous, you might even stop by in the comments! Read on!…

Read MoreAnnouncement: iOS 4 and our Carrier Bundles
Well everyone, the time is nearly upon us for iOS 4 and it is with great sadness that we have to announce that our carrier bundles no longer work with the new iOS 4. We have a copy of the stock bundles from the first beta of iOS4 and upon opening them up we have found that Apple are signing them again. Unfortunately the stock bundles haven’t changed in the public release [of iOS 4].…
Read MoreNetGuide Web Awards 2010… Vote for us now!
Hey guys… we need your help! If you enjoy the site, if we’ve helped you get your iPhone set-up for your carrier, if we’ve helped you solve a problem, taught you a trick you didn’t know or recommended an app that you love using then we’d appreciate your vote in the ‘Best Blog Site’ category of this year’s NetGuide Web Awards. We work really hard to make this site entertaining, helpful and just downright awesome as well as answer hundreds of support emails every week. But we’re not an internet publishing powerhouse like the guys behind Engadget, Gizmodo or Stuff – we’re just a bunch of guys who do this for the love of it in between our ‘real’ jobs and family lives, and we could do with all the help we can get to bring even more readers to the site. If you’d like to help us, please give us your vote by clicking here and typing our URL into the ‘other’ field of the first category (Best Blog Site). Voting closes July 31st. thanks for your support everyone!…

Get your popcorn popping, because here we have the official iPhone 4 video from Apple, complete with the usual slighty OTT monologue from Jonathan Ive (although the word ‘magical’ is conspicuously absent this time)! Read MoreiOS 4 Wallpapers
After installing OS 4 beta 4 and having a look around I noticed Apple has added a number of new wallpapers for users to choose from, all of which are relatively clean so as not to distract from your app icons. I thought I would grab the new wallpapers and post them up in case anyone wants to install them on their pre-OS4 device.
To install them select your favourite and tap and hold to save it to your device. From there you can set it as your wallpaper.
Enjoy.…

Posts to the site are likely to be a thin on the ground between now and the new year, but we hope you’ll be with us when we’re back in full swing in the new year.…
