iPhone alarm borked by daylight savings?

The end is nigh

I am tired and I am grumpy. And it’s my iPhone’s fault! Yes, folks, as if losing an hour’s sleep due to daylight savings isn’t bad enough, how about losing another hour just for good measure? It seems that Apple have borked something with the alarm clock and despite the clock on my iPhone being correctly set, the alarm I had scheduled for 5:55am went off at 4:55am this morning, which is basically 3:55am until my body clock adjusts. Unfortunately my tired brain didn’t spot the critical flaw in the Matrix and now I’m seriously hacked off. But the plot thickens upon further investigation……

Ask iPhonewzealand: How do all the various iPhone models compare for use in New Zealand? (Updated)

Ask iPhonewzealand

This is an update to a post we made back in February. Every day we receive lots of emails from people who have bought either a new iPhone 4 or 3GS, or have bought an original iPhone or 3G via Trademe or eBay, and they are confused as to which networks they can use it on, whether it’s unlocked, or whether it can do this-or-that. We’re not surprised, it’s certainly not easy trying to get your head around it all, particularly if you’ve only just started looking and are trying to size the lay of the land. To help you understand the differences between each of the four models, how they work with each of the main three networks here in New Zealand and to help you pick the phone that’s right for you, we’ve updated our comparison guide. Read on to view the guide on-screen or to download a printable PDF.…

Apple’s free case program to end September 30th

Final Days!

Apple has confirmed today via the company’s website that the free case program for iPhone 4 is to end September 30th. The decision not to extend the expiry date of the offer has been made as Cupertino have found that the antenna issue has ended up being “even smaller than we originally thought” according to the information on the Apple US website. The program will continue to cover iPhone 4 purchases made up to and including that date, however, so even if you order now and the phone arrives in October you will still be eligible for a case. The 30-day refund policy will remain in place, however. Any bets that the white iPhone 4 will debut in October?!…
