My current issue is with docks on things like stereo’s and speaker systems. The iphone 4 does go in and work, but it is not a nice fit like my 3gs was. Does anyone know where we can buy actual iPhone 4 speakers from?

Hope the fix works on not just vodafones network, as from what I cna tell, the problem is possibly to do with apple servers (UK) rahter htan locally.

I am holding off swapping my wife to a 022 number, but I could have used facetime this last weekend, skype worked ok tho…

A warning about the battery life -

Don’t mean to be a geek (wait, look where I’m posting…) but if you could see the ipad in shot then it wasn’t being used as autocue. However there are some very good prompting apps around, we’ve used the Pro-Prompter app already on a couple of inhouse recordings and even in an emergency with a client (requires a hood unit to clip on the camera lens of course and clip to hold the iphone but works surprisingly well, especially if you use another iProduct as a remote for it.) I’ll be looking at the iPad hoodunit in the States later this month but it won’t be long till you see field reporters with these.

Heres the Project Sword demo video from the last event…it looks INCREDIBLE…PS3 level graphics…the multiplayer aspect is mindblowing, you can run the ” Epic Citadel ” tech demo for free now.

Epic Citadel is the well, “citadel” from the start of the video, you can walk and look around the large map, but theres nothing to do except appreciate the beauty

The Motif does have a lip that stops the front from touching any surface when face down. The fourth picture shows it quite well.

Not a bad option, but it looks like it has the same problem as the velcro, which was a great idea by the way. The adhesive appears to be more permanent than temporary.

I’ve handed my trusty iPhone 3G to my wife since upgrading to the iPhone 4. We often share a car, so need to easily be able to support both phones in the TomTom cradle.

My solution was to cut a 2mm thick strip off the end of a Staedtler Mars Plastic eraser, cut it down to size and then use a residue free, only slightly sticky adhesive. I’ve not settled on anything yet, but did find that a thin layer of blue-tac works, allowing me to easily attach the ‘bumper’ for the iPhone 4 and remove it as necessary to support the iPhone 3G.

I still prefer the US$3 case I bought from eBay (and shipped from Taiwan) to my Motif case, which arrived a few days ago. I guess I like a hard crystal case with a bit of an “edge” or front protection, so that if you sit the phone face down you’re not sitting the class directly on a surface.

unplugged from wall charger. Plugged back in, did a handset reset while plugged in. LIFE!

Hey everyone!
I thought I’d give an update of how it’s going with vodafone – cause they’ve actually been pretty sweet about it.
I wrote them an email on their contact form, and after a few days I got:
- an acknowledgement of the facetime problem
- a refund of ~$25 (which is how much my facetime activation txts cost). I didn’t ask for a refund or even mention my txt charges; so props to voda for using their initiative.
- they asked for confirmation that I was on wifi and that the phone I was using facetime on an iPhone 4 and trying to call an iPhone 4.

So I wrote them back, said “hey thanks for the refund!” with confirmation of their questions, and asked for confirmation that they are working on the problem and when they’ll fix it. They wrote back with an apology and saying they didn’t have an eta for fixing the facetime problem – but gave me a $50 credit! Good on ‘ya vodafone.

I got a txt from Voda today saying they were working on ‘a problem with Facetime and 027 numbers and they’d call me when it was resolved.

So there you have it – I know voda got a lot of slack for how they botched the launch, but at least they’re owning up to the problem and being really helpful through their support line. The support team have been real legends and although I’d rather it ‘just work’ at least they’re doing something about it and not just asking me to restore my phone again!
Anywho – thought I’d share, hoping they’ll have it fixed soon.

If you already have games that are GC enabled you will not have to redownload them.
As Paul mentioned if you want to see what games are compatable just click the ” Find Game Centre Games in the games tab.
This will take you to the app store. This feature wasnt working correctly earlier today but it is now.
The only free game I think is farmville currently

Do I need to purchase the games when game centre is enabled? What about my current games? I have tons of games, but none of them is showing in my account (games I own is in game centre list). Is there any way I can activate this? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

well after freaking ages, it seems that when I upgraded with a fully charged battery, the iPhone’s battery completely discharged. After an age, I got the charge signal and then now she’s back.

Downloaded & installed iOS4.1 within about 30 minutes today, went through smooth as! My 3G iphone is heaps more responsive now, apps opening much quicker and not hanging like they did on 4.0.1. Lost my jailbreak apps but the new speed makes up for it…till the next j/b lol

dont update your ios 4.1, its a trap, which people who has firmware 4.0.2 ( which i assume all people that has deliveries around august/sept will shipped with it) might not be able to jailbreak your device FOREVER if u upgrade to ios 4.1 now.. dev-team reccomend for us to wait for their official jailbreak release..
