I can't send email when not connected to a WiFi network. If I try to send an email when not connected to a WiFi network I get a message informing me that the sender address was rejected by the server. The message is put in the outbox and sends as soon as I connect to a WiFi network. Any ideas?

You smtp setting while on wifi is probably using your home broadband setting. Turn WIFI off on the phone and change your SMTP server to smtp.2degreesmobile.net.nz and see if that works, then turn wifi back on and see if that works again.

I thought that might be the case and did have difficulty finding the 2degrees smtp server details – thanks for that. However, still no joy. I get a message telling me that the server is not responding. I'm guessing there's more needed than just changing the smtp server. Username and password? SSL? Waiting on 2degrees to respond.
Worse thing is, I've had this iPhone for a year now and I feel sure it's only in recent weeks this has started happening. But then, I'm old so it just might be early onset alzheimer's

Lol join the club. SSL is normally no, but try both Nd username and password should be blank as your sim card authenticates you. Is it a 2 degrees email address? If not try using your ISP smtp details. Ive got my own domain with pop accounts and use my home broadband smtp settings on my iPhone but have to add the username and password which is my ADSL connection details and works
