I've been thinking about using Mobileme. My problem is I have a Macbook Pro, Iphone, Ipad & Laptop. I use all of these devices at various times & want to keep everything in sync – Perfect I thought! My problem, I want to keep my email address vodafone.co.nz & my domain name address & be able to check these / send from mobileme, but don't want the .me address when i send from it.
I've read that you can now check 3rd party email address's on Mobileme. I'd be interested if users of Mobileme could give thier experiences with it & if what I'm wanting to do will work.
I don't want to pay the sub & find it's of no use. I can't use the trial as I've already had my 3 months worth, back before you could use 3rd part email in Mobileme.
Thanks in advance!

I have used it – works fine, accesses your other mail account via POP though so you won't get your IMAP folders. Also lets you send with that address.
You could start another three-month trial under another random name just to give it a go and then cancel it when you've made your mind up.

Hi Thanks Steve – managed to get there 95%. I have forwared my Ihug address to me.com. I have forwarded my domain.co.nz to me.com & when sending from my Macbook/Mobileme the address is [email protected] rather than [email protected].
But….
When i send from my Iphone its still [email protected] (From). Any way of changing this on the Iphone so that when people reply it is to my domain?
Thanks

You can setup another POP email account with your domain details but set it not to check email so your mail doesnt double up. You will then get a drop down list of senders so that you can choose your domain address.
As far as I know there is no better solution than this. It does mean that mail sent from your phone wont show up in mobileme sent folder also.

Just clear out the incoming mail server details.

Thanks – just put a "." under each one (Wouldn't let me put nothing), got an error clicked save & now seems to be all good. Thanks for your help much appreciated.
Now I've got MM working & in sync with everything I'm really liking it, just took a bit to get all sorted.
