Is it just me or is the NZ tomtom 1.3 update missing all the new features that the other countries get?
google search, traffic updates, importing POI's etc.

Looks that way to me.
There is a local search (Navigate to -> POI -> POI near me -> Search) but this doesnt look like the Google search others have..
Traffic updates (which are an optional pay for by the way) are missing
Cant seem to add destinations from other websites or apps…
Lane guidance still greyed out
Map still out of date for where I live

Stink, as I thought.
I wonder if someone from iphonenewzealand could ask tomtom to comment on the lack of features?

Thanks for posting the response from their spin doctors. But when they say: "…in New Zealand the AA provide all the data for the TomTom maps, and this data is very complete and thorough…" their reply simply confirms that they're not listening. Hello TomTom? Lights are on, but you're out to lunch? Haven't we all just finished telling you TomTom that the NZ map is hopelessly out of date? Haven't we been consistently saying that if we're paying a premium price, we not unreasonably expect a premium product?

I fully agree, having PR company answer these questions is ridiculous. We would like to see someone from TomTom front up on the site and explain the real reasons behind it.
The Maps are not up to date, why there is no Live Traffic in New Zealand is beyond me and surely a Google search is better than anything the NZ AA provide.
It seems to be a typical model that a number of larger locally owned international companies take, whereby they change what they do for the rest of the world and believe it is OK to scale it down or reduce the options because we are a smaller country with a lower population. Personally I believe New Zealand would is a great testing ground for new products and innovations as it would surely cost less to implement on a smaller scale.
Come on TomTom, sign up to the site (you not your PR company) and give some real, truthful answers.

I have just bought a Belkin tunebase which is working well. Like the idea of one cradle with all the functions and no extra wires and "hidden". I am now looking to add GPS mapping. The TomTom cradle seems to be more hassle (bluetooth synch and a cable to get music) than its worth? Is TMTom the best GPS mapping application? Will it work in the tunbase or is GPS signal likely to be significantly degraded? Any thoughts appreciated
