Upgraded my 3GS on Telecom XT to iOS5 and I've lost all Caller ID on SMS & phone calls (just shows the number, not the name).
My contacts are all there and I can search by contact name.
Tried 'Import SIM Contact' option in Settings/Mail, Contact, Calendars but that made no difference.
Any ideas?

As far as I know this problem was giving the devs trouble when the betas of iOS 5 was out. Hopefully they found a solution. I think it was something to do with telecom.

Here's what I think I know… I may be wrong.
This is an issue with the way the iPhone handles the callerID data it receives. There is also a chance you cant use celular data at the moment.
When you did the update, you were supposed to recieve a carrier update once it was all done. This would have fixed the callerID issue and set your network settings which allow you to use celular data and use MMS.
Can you use mobile internet (without wifi)?
Can you send MMS messages?

Thanks for that. I was getting mobile internet & sending MMS messages, it was just the Caller ID issue.
It was the carrier update that fixed it – I had ignored the prompt the first time around, because everything else was working and I wrongly thought it wouldn't correctly update for XT (not being a supported carrier).
But after your suggestion I restarted and did the carrier update and it all came right – Caller ID restored!
Also, my Voicemail button is working – haven't had that for quite a while. Bonus :)
