Just updated my iphone to IOS5 today. One thing i found strange about this notification layout in the lock screen. View this
Now every time when i receive notifications, i get the layout as pictured on the left, but doesn't it supposed to display i as tiled layout (right picture) the moment you receive a notification? Any ideas why it's doing this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Goto settings, notifications, select the app you (ie calendar) and change the notification type to Banner, it's set to alert at the moment.

The view on the left is what you get when you first receive the notification for whatever app, so text, calendar etc etc. That type of notification is 'Alert' and you could change it to 'Banner' as suggested above. However it is a different thing to the view on the right. The view on the right is what happens if you have multiple notifications since the last time you used your iPhone. So during a period where you don't look at your iPhone and you receive a number of emails or texts you will see the view on the right.
So view on the left is the initial notification, be it 'Alert' (as seen in that picture) or 'Banner' and the view on the right is a list of all the notifications you have received since you last unlocked your iPhone.

Hey,
Thanks for the reply. All my current settings are set to Alert type: Banners, Badge App Icon: on, and View in Lock Screen: On. If it was set to Alerts, it would have came up with the normal alert box like this
The one pictured on the left is definitely an ios5 feature, but it doesn't appear as it should on the apple's ios5 commercial… From what Dan has mentioned, it could be because this is the first notification, it would go in the tiled form only if one of more notifications are triggered? If this was the case, do you see this similar box as your FIRST banner notification on your phone's lock screen?
Thanks.

Baed on this video, it appeared Apple have changed the way the initial notification appear on lock screen. The first would appear as a large bubble (as pictured on the left picture of my original post) and anything after that will be stacked, just like it appeared in the commercial.
