I "upgraded" my iPhone 3 to OS 4.2.1 yesterday and seem to have lost the ability to use internet tethering. Has anyone else found this? Is this just an issue fo iPhone 3 users (and Apple are just trying to force me to upgrade my phone).
Any suggestions or comments most welcome

This happened to me on 4.1.
Try resetting your network settings and restarting the phone.
Failing that, restore to factory will most likely get it working.
Neat, eh?

Your APN details would have been wiped during the upgrade. This happened to me also.
Thanks Mak. You are correct, all of my carrier settings were wiped out. I have re-entered them. My issue is that either the tethering section has moved or been removed as there is nowhere to enter tethering details or even activate it anymore. It used to be on the network screen (see image I lifted from apple site below) but the Intenret Tethering section isn't on my phone at all now. BTW – I am on XT network.

Apple have disabled tethering on the iphone 3g on the latest update (the 3gs is fine)
There are many posts on the Apple site about it but no word as to whether it is a bug or if they are removing the tethering ability from the 3g iphone from here on.

Thought so – unbelievable degree of arrogance – an upgrade that gives you reduced service!

Agree - can't believe we have to go through this again
