Can any one help . I have just installed ios 4 in my 3g and have worked thru many issues but Im stuck on how to get voice mail on the actual voice mail button. I can get it thru my contacts and I have placed it in favorites but its just not the same as in its correct place. Have i missed something ? has any one had the same issue ?

Lance, this is a known problem after upgrading to OS4. It's something that Telecom have to rectify on their sim cards. In the meantime, go here for the workaround: http://www.iphonewzealand.co.n…..-settings/

which provider are you with? XT, VF, 2deg
with xt I can conf that getting a v3 SIM will correct the issue. haven't heard about the other ones.
there is a post on the home page for this issue specifically
check your SIM and call the helpdesk or go to a telecom store … they'll set you up with one.

On the subject of V3 sims, do you know if they fix the problem of XT carrier settingsnot sticking? (in particular the APN settings) I spent a looong time on the phone today with a "senior" tech support guy at Apple who told me he had personally spent some time on the phone with an Australian carrier (same problem apparently). And the fix was either or both getting your carrier to "reset your personal 3G profile and/or update the sim". Got any comments about this?

Thanks for the pace notes. Im on XT ……..why can XT not work with the most popular phone in the world… I will look into up grading my sim card

Just thought about it……….I might as well go for the new iphone………..its out now… I should be able to sell the 3g.
