What's the best and easiest way to transfer numbers from our old sim cards to our iPhones with the micro sim, tried to send contacts by Bluetooth but no joy! Also the contacts that did manage to get transferred( no idea how) are all back to front. Any ideas please

Depending on your provider, it might be easiest to just take phones and sim cards into your local store and get them to help you, would pay to phone them first to check that they can.
I sync all my contacts with Gmail, so whenever I change phones or sim I can simply download them from there.

What Matt said usually works. They do this all day.
As to your contacts being "backwards" check , Settings,Mail,Contacts, Calendars, contacts,sort order, display order. If that is what you mean.
