Hello Peops. I have 3gs. Im currently JB on 4.0 used jailbreakme.com. Was hoping to upgrade to 4.1 so I could enable the Native HDR photography with the tweak. Unfortunately I missed getting the 4.1 Update to jailbreak with Limera1n and now it's 4.2 available. Is there a method to get 4.1 on my phone? I'm trying to get my head around shsh blobs and tinyumbrella. Can someone explain please.

I successfully did this with my iPhone, I used TinyUmbrella. I can't explain to you exactly what I did, but I do remember that once I downloaded the old firmware I had to have TinyUmbrella running first before I tried restoring the firmware. I think Tiny does some kind of interrupt to iTunes and tricks it into thinking you have a different SHSH? You can download the 4.1 firmware here.
Sorry I couldn't be more help, I remember reading up on it on the Net and following instructions, just don't recall what they were.

Thanks for the advice. Got my head around how it all works, have done most things twice or three times tho: got tinyumbrella going, got the 4.1 update in, rejailbroke with limera1n. Aptbackup messed up, lost all app store icons. So had to start over. Am still getting the phone synced atm (none of the restore methods were successful). Also found out the HDR for 3Gs doesnt work anyway, so actually was all in vain. Oh well such is life. I'll have the fun of getting all my apps up and running again now! Hope Cydia gives me all my jailbreak apps back too! Cheers Lester
