The jailbreak community is getting an opportunity to make interactions with fellow modders and hackers considerably more local and personal. MMi is leading the charge behind "Jailbreak Meetups," a new initiative that helps provide unique occasions for members of our increasingly expansive community to connect.

From Tampa, Florida and New York City, to Valparaiso, Indiana and Everett, Washington, jailbreak meetups are already taking root ahead of this summer's first ever "Global Jailbreak Meetup Day" – July 10, 2011 – a date set to commemorate the original iPhone jailbreak release.
If you're unfamiliar with Meetup.com, it's an online destination for people (7.2 million strong) to organize a local group or find one of the many (thousands) that are already meeting face-to-face around the world. Signing up is free and creating an account is easy. Once you're logged in, you can either create your own jailbreak meetup location and time (say, Panera in Anytown, USA on May 5th at 3:00 pm), or you can find a scheduled jailbreak meetup that's already planned somewhere close by and click "count me in" to let the meeting organizer know you're attending.
