You must be jailbroken before you can unlock. If you are not yet jailbroken, see here: http://www.iphonewzealand.co.n…..ll-devices
Supported basebands and models:
iPhone4 baseband 01.59
3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 05.13.04
The unlock is achieved via Ultrasn0w. You can install this by searching and installing it from Cydia. If it doesn't show up add "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" to your Sources.

Go to Settings->General->About and scroll down to Modem Firmware and you'll see the baseband
