I am noticing that on darker backgrounds there is light bleeding out along the edges, mostly at the bottom end. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this..

After reading about this issue being reported overseas this was one of the first things I checked out with my new iPad2 I got yesterday afternoon.  I am relieved to be able to report that I cannot detect this issue in any way with my one.

Will be interesting to hear other people experiences…

EDIT:  I've investigated this issue in-depth on my new iPad2 and it turns out that mine does have a little bleeding in 2 corners and along the length of one edge between those corners.

I discovered this by following the procedure on the following website:  http://www.theipadguide.com/co…..ow/7171269

However to be perfectly honest I am not at all worried.  The problem was only evident when I over-rode the auto brightness and cranked it right up to full and studied the solid black image in a dark room (a storage cupboard under the stairs!)  Even then the problem was only barely noticeable and hardly distracting at all.  In fact I went through my photo album looking for darker pics and the bleeding did not affect these unless you really studied them hard.

When I revered back to auto-brightness you could not detect any bleeding at all.

My conclusion is that I am either lucky, or not OCD enough to be worried by this.  I will not be taking it back due to this!

I have the same problem with my 32GB wifi .Its not of big concern to me as the bleeding is seen only on a black background more over if i am not wrong none of the stores in NZ have ipad2 ,i don't wanna wait for 4 weeks to get a replacement.I will wait until stock becomes normal and then go for a exchange(Iff the issue still persists).

Read some where that it's the glue which is used between the glass and body which is causing the issue and once it dries up the bleeding will no longer occur.

I have noticed some light bleeding from close to the volume switch and again near the home button. No big deal at this stage but is annoying. Will wait until readily available and then exchange. As an FYI for the record I have a 64gb wifi/3G version (black)

I'm hunching that the light bleeding is possibly the magnets? It showed up in the areas where you all suggested on my partner's iPad2 64GB 3G as well. Nothing that overly worry me.

I've just contacted Noel Leeming Wairau Park (where I bought my iPad 2 from) regarding this issue & was told that I need to surrender my iPad to Apple for review to assess if it's more cost effective to repair the defect than to give a brand new replacement.

What?! Surrendering my iPad for a minor annoyance?! Hell no! I cant've live without my beloved iPad for the next 1-2 months! The horror! Surprised

I'm going to contact Apple Support directly to see what can be done about this.

Watch this space.

We have been in contact with Apple and have just posted this to the site: iPad 2 Screen Bleeding, what can you do if it affects you?
