Brand new iphone4, put it in my FM transmitter in the car…
"Charging is not supported with this accessory!!"
Comes up on the screen. With a yellow exclamation mark.
No sound is transmitted and the phone can't be used as ipod.
Are the new transmitters different to older models?
My old ipod mini works fine.
Transmitter is a Chinese one with a ipod plug.

There are some devices that don't work with iPhone but do work with the iPod. Did it work with any other iPhone i.e. the 3G or 3GS?

I have the same problem. Bought an AllKit (NEW!) transmitter + handsfree and it doesn't work with the iPhone 4.
I have tried my old iPod (6+years) and that works fine.
Are there transmitters available yet for the latest iPhone 4?
Any suggestions?

I bought a cheap Chinese transmitter and it seems to work well……
APART from huge interference from the iPhone coming over the stereo. I believe it to be cellular interference when the phone is locating towers or transmitting data. The phone sits right in front of the stereo because the 12v plug is below it. I have tried turning off 3g but this makes no difference. Is this common and do the higher priced transmitters have this same problem? (i.e. Belkin etc)
The reception also drops out all the time while driving, a lot more than my other phones ever did.
Btw I have an iPhone4 running on 2degrees.

I had the same problem with my ALlkit when I upgraded my firmware.. did not mind much because it was cheap. I ordered the Dynamic FM and it works fine almost no noise disturbance on FM, it also has in-built speaker
