Hi guys,
Below is an update for the availability for Jailbreaking iPhone OS devices on firmware 3.1.3.
Before we get going, anyone with any iPhone 3GS, newer iPod touch 2G, or any iPod touch 3G should stop reading now. There is NO jailbreak or unlock available for you as of yet. If you update you will loose the ability to jailbreak.
iPhone 2G: Good news! All you need to do to jailbreak 3.1.3 is point the latest redsn0w release at regular iPhone 2G 3.1.2 .ipsw firmware (for verification purposes) and it will jailbreak the 3.1.3 running on your device.
iPod touch 1G: Same as above, except use regular iPod touch 1G 3.1.2 .ipsw firmware (for verification purposes).
iPhone 3G: Same as above, except use regular iPhone 3G 3.1.2 .ipsw firmware (for verification purposes). You WILL lose your unlock if you require one. Don't update if so!
iPod touch 2G (older): If you own an older iPod touch 2G, you can use this specially compiled version of redsn0w (Mac / Windows) to jailbreak your device. Point it at regular iPod touch 2G 3.1.2 .ipsw firmware (for verification purposes) and it will jailbreak the 3.1.3 running on your device. If you are unsure if your device is "older" or "newer", hold off to be sure.
iPod touch 2G (newer): If you own a newer iPod touch 2G, there is NO jailbreak available. Do not upgrade.
iPhone 3GS: There is NO jailbreak available. Do not upgrade.
iPod touch 3G: There is NO jailbreak available. Do not upgrade.
