My wife and I are primary school teachers in Papamoa – and we just released our first app for iPad & iPhone (it's universal!). The idea for StoryBot came from working with one of my students who has Down's Syndrome. I needed a way that he could engage with sentence structure, essential words and reading. It turns out it's a really powerful tool for any kids who are learning to put sentences together and in the formative stages of reading and word identification. It's also a really fun way to make shared stories to share with your child, or for your child to create shared stories to share with you.

Help your child become a better reader and writer with StoryBot!

Create engaging stories for your child to put together as they learn about sentence structure, key sight words and grammar. You create the story, they rebuild it to make sense. Retell a family event or teach your child something new! StoryBot is an interactive shared reading tool designed by teachers. It's perfect for use at home or in the classroom.

Features:

- Create unlimited stories about anything and everything

- Use photos from your Photo Library or Photostream, or take photos with your device's camera

- Three customisable robot voices

- Four sample stories to help get you started

- StoryBot supports beautiful retina graphics Celebrate with your child and create an interactive journal of their experiences.

Here's what people are saying about StoryBot:

"This application is perfect for sentence structure". Jessica C. -Speech Language Pathologist.

"This app has been a great educational tool and puts the creativity in the hands of the parents and the child". APPreciation Review.

"What a wonderful creative App this is. I love apps that allow for such open ended fun and learning". Tea M. -Mum

"A great learning tool – I brought this app with the expectation of using it in the classroom with new entrant children. It does not disappoint. I can already see how using this program alongside the children will increase their knowledge of high frequency words and basic sentence structure. It is easy to use – young learners will have no trouble navigating their way through it. I also like that we can make our own stories to make it authentic and learner orientated".

Lea T. -Primary / Elementary Teacher

Great stuff.  Having an idea, seeing a niche for that idea, and developing an App!

I wish you all the best with it as it looks like it has real value for the market segment it's aimed it.

P.S. – you might want to edit your post and fix up the layout.  For some reason the sentences are clipped on the right, and your link labelled as facebook goes to Youtube!

Thanks for the encouragement nz_Ark! I don't know what was going on with my post – but all fixed now.
