We need a topograpical mapping GPS app for viewing while offline. Check out the Navionics marine charting app, add the Linz topo map data, possibly in vector format. Would be great to be at the navionics price $17 but I'd be prepared to fork out $100 if was available

Does anyone make a reader or viewer for geo-referenced TIFF format maps? I see that NZ topo maps are available for free download on the LINZ website. How hard would it be to make an app that would rival a handheld GPS unit like a Garmin Mapping unit etc? I've noticed a couple of GIS apps have appeared on the app store, but no info on them being able to read TIFF format.
