I'll start the ball rolling with this suggestion which I've had for quite some time but haven't found the time to give it a go myself due to other commitments.

My family has 3 cars so every couple of months it is either WOF or Rego time for one of them. But sometimes this is unintentionally forgotten.

There is a website called carjam.co.nz whereby you can enter a registration plate and it gives history for the car for free which includes due dates for WOF and Rego. My thought was for a simple application whereby the user enters their registration plates and the WOF and Rego dates are retrieved from carjam.co.nz. If possible (but I have a feeling apple doesn't allow it) these dates could then be inserted into your calendar for alarm reminders. Alternatively it would just have to display the dates when the app is run.

It could be worth getting in touch with the guys at carjam to see if they'd fund the development. Their server could then perhaps do push notification reminders.

What about trying to use the icalendar which will do what you want instead of a app.

I actually agree with you on that one, My hubby would like an app like that aswell as he's busy with work etc.

Hopefully someone will see this … Smile

MobileNet made an application for carjam.co.nz called CarJam (funily enough). I think it's just a portal to the website at the moment but surely they could build on that.

Thanks for the mention, Dan! Appreciated.

Login to CarJam, then look up your car's registration. If the reg/wof is due in the near future (or overdue) there'll be a big yellow box at the top with a 'Never miss a warning for this vehicle' link — click here and you can get emailed when the reg/wof is due.

Eg, check out this vehicle: http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?p…..ate=fes673

I could probably add this as a push notification to the CarJam app, if you guys are keen?

A push notification would be great… maybe with some settings (if possible) of when to push the notification. i.e. how many days before due date.
