That is very weird, woke up this morning had a pop up saying cellular network activated and its connected back to Telecom everything seems to be working… apart from now i have a Telecom NZ logo in the top left scrolling back and forward… pefered the xt one so jumped on the computer and put the carrier bundle back on…
I remembered last night it was also coming up with a pop up saying it may take some time to activate with the cellular network but i thought nothing of this, did xt fall over last night at the same time of my upgrade or was my phone having a bad day….
Like i said first time this has happend

iPhones are notorious for cellular connection failures. I'm on 3.1 and once had to do several reboots for it to connect back and get 3G. I guess this may not have been fixed in the latest version.
You could have rebooted and it probably would have conneted.
AFAIK XT was working perfectly last night.

I did reboot it a number of times with no luck. Thought chances of it being the network was slim, this is the first time it has ever dropped out of signal and it had been running with 3.1 for a while… Just the latest update seems to broke it..
It is 3GS and not unlocked..
Although have noticed it is running like a dog when i open apps, messages anything really takes couple of seconds to think about it….
Is there a way to reset it completely (Factory firmware version etc) but recover your apps and etc. I think it might need it because its never run this slow before.

Plug it into your computer and restore in iTunes. You may not want to restore from a backup since that may be what's making it slow but you could try and see. If not, you'll have to arrange your Apps again and setup any settings you had before.

I'm having a similar problem. I just installed xt carrier bundle and my phone has no service and says "Network Lost Your selected cellular network is no longer available You can choose a different network in Settings" when i look in settings it says automatic and sometimes it also says vodafone nz, other times it tells me "Unable To Load Network Lists"
did your phone just sort itself out over night?
I have turned it off and on a few times with no luck.

@stensness How ong have you had your XT SIM card and have you tried it in another XT phone. Sometimes if it is new it can take a while to become 'live' on the network.

I had the same problem. I went into Settings – General – Reset – Reset Network Settings. And it worked fine.
