As of this morning I can't send text messages. Keeps failing.
Iphone or XT issue?
Still receiving txts fine
Anyone having similar issues?

I assume you have full coverage and XT?
Now this has happened to me before but I don't think I could call or use data either. Will double check next time it happens (hoepfully not).
So I was minding my own business and all of a sudden the text I tried to send would fail. Odd, right? I try agian, and again, and it still fails. Full signal and 3G symbol.
I reboot the phone and only the XT logo and the reception bars show up, no 3G logo.
I reboot again, same thing.
I reboot a third time and low and behold, it has full reception and 3G and texts work fine again.
It is noteworthy that I am on 3.1 firmware (not 3.1.2) and I believe there are many known issues with cellular connectivity with my version and most previous versions. If you haven't already, update your firmware.

Thanks for that – worked like a charm
after 3rd reboot everything started working again

Same problem is back – can't send texts – not sure if its related to all teh XT outages today – but I've rebooted 3 times and still no luck
Anyone else having similar problems?

I had the same issues yesterday. Yes as Dan says, I think it was just carry over. Mine works fine again now.

Still Can't send texts (although i can receive them!)
and no data either – all I can do is make calls!
Anyone else having similar issues?

Mine is all good now. Hve you tried switching off, leaving off for one minute, then switching back on. If this doesn't work still give Telecom a call and get them to check your SIM. They won't be able to help with the iPhone side of things but they should be able to assist in checking the SIM is working correctly.

After leaving the phone powered off for about 10 mins – things have finally returned to normal

I am also having the same issue. It has happened 3-4 times over the last 6 weeks. I still get full coverage and the XT logo but no 3G. Checked with Telecom and they confirm there are no faults in my area. My SIM card is also working fine.
I have reset my iphone seveal times and removed the SIM card and powered it back up 10-15 minutes later but still no 3G.
I can still make and receive calls just can't send txt's ofr MMS.
Any ideas? Very frustrating!
