Hi – you can have any email coming to your iPhone as long as you add the mail account to the Mail app. I don't know if you can do what you're wanting to do on XT (I don't think you can) but giving someone your actual email address would probably be just as easy… no?

Plus… wouldn't the 021…@vodafone.co.nz service have come through as a text rather than email? Which is much less convenient to work with than actual email.

Hi Steve,

thanks for taking the time to reply,

yea i am trying to have the email converted to a txt so it is received instantley instead of waiting 15 mins for the phone to download the email.

I have other email accoounts set up on the phone, but need the txt app for what we are trying to do here.

Perhaps eTXT would be the way to go?

What type of mail account are you using? If your mail is or can be delivered via Microsoft Exchange then you can set it up as push mail, which means your iPhone will alert you the very second an email has been received – no delay. Works very well. Some of the free services can be added to your phone as Microsoft Exchange accounts including GMail and Hotmail / Windows Live Mail.

I use an app called "Push Gmail" which instantly lets me know via push notification when I receive an email (on a Gmail account which you can create for free), without the need to actually download the email unless I choose to.

Main features:

Instant and reliable push

Customizable notifications

Quiet hours

24 Ringtones for notification sound

you can check it out here: http://www.ilegendsoft.com/sof…..gmailpush/
