Hi folks – in a fit of pique after $179 data charge from vodafone i yesterday changed over to 1G plan on XT with Telecom. I have an iphone 3G (not 3GS) and sadly found this site AFTER upgrading to OS3.1 so have no tethering.
But while i can send texts and send calls, I no longer have the ability to MMS and I cant receive texts – sometimes my phone diverts to voicemail even tho phone is on. And the "voicemail" call button in the phone cant be set to Telecom.
Anyone else suffering from this? very frustrating…

Hi, yes i have now, and have MMS, but still cannot receive texts – can send them ok. And my voice mail button now works fine.
Not sure if the text thing will just work out in time?

One could assume it's an issue with Telecom. Have you tried your SIM in a differnet phone and tested these features?
I have a similar problem in that up until Saturday morning my 3g iphone was working fine. On XT network now OS version 3.0 and carrier bundle installed. Telecom Voicemail working now etc etc.
But then all of a sudden I stopped recieving sms messages. I can send them but cannot recieve. And now I do not have the voicemail logo when i recieve a voicemail, I have to manually press voicemail button to see if i have any messages. Not sure what has happened. Must be something to do with the SIM as i inserted another XT Sim into my iphone and everything works fine. i insert my SIM into another phone and still do not recieve txt's? I have since updated my OS to 3.2 this morning. Not sure what could have happened? Any ideas?

i can send txts but cannot receive… i've heard the iphone alert me when i receive a new txt but no new messages (visually) appear – XT or iphone fault?
i've reset cellular network settings/reset all network settings/deleted all messages/rebooted a couple of times/called the helpline in India or where ever it is/ nothing

I rang telecom after I saw this thread and they say that you should take it in and they will give you a replacement SIM.
