I'll be spending 2 weeks in New Zealand and am planning on buying a prepaid data SIM with Telecom NZ. Can anyone please tell me if the APN for data access with automatically set or do I have to update it myself. In other countries I've visited, I had to use update the APN via unlockit.co.nz before I could connect to the 3G data network which meant that I had to connect via wifi first to update the APN. I'm hoping I don't have to do this with Telecom NZ.

You've not stated the device you'll be using.
However you will probably have to enter the settings manually. There is an app by iPhonewzealand (IPNZ) called "NZ carier settings" there is a link to it from the main page or just search for it in the apstore. Download and install it, when the time comes, just copy and paste the settings.

Thanks. Seeing that this is an iPhone forum, I didn't think it was necessary to state what device I'll be using. :) I'm using an iPhone 4.
