Hi folks; my first time ever on any sort of chat site, so smile quietly to yourselves but be gentle online with my errors please! Have a fab 3G (how do you know if its 3GS?) iphone purchased in August 09. No probs at all, like my second mac lappie, (my silver surfer Mac Pro).. Am a total Mac convert. However; 6th day since the T'com XT crash, with 'no service' showing on iphone. Have turned off and on; removed simcard (T'com) and reinserted; have today gone to T'com shop and tested my simcard in their phone (it worked) and a new simcard in my phone (still no service). T'com reported am still 'registered' as user and ph no is correct. Unsure what to do next; rely on it for work as well as personal. Tonight did backup to Silver Surfer, and a restore, then restored from backup…still no service. Any ideas? or do I need to return it to Tauranga Tech Centre (Mac shop) and hope for replacement? Thanks in advance for your time, chrisg

As per my reply to your comment… First things first: Check that you haven't disabled 3G somehow. Go to settings –> General –> Network and make sure that 'Enable 3G' is set to 'on. If its not that, try putting your phone into Airplane mode for 30 seconds, then back out again. If the problem persists then yes take it back to where you bought it. Doesn't sound like this is anything to do with the XT outage.
PS you double-posted this so I am deleting the second post.
