Have a telecom micro-sim, installed in iPad. Telecom shows as the carrier, but does not allow access to the network. I put $20 on the card, via the phone, it accepted that. I can't register online with the telecom number they gave me, it is not recognized as a valid number. I called telecom, but they seem to have not heard of the iPad, put me through to someone who did not answer the phone – left it ringing on speaker phone for 35 minutes?
I read in this forum that the settings need to be set to 3G, but that setting does not appear in the iPad?

Hmmm I have it working. I edited the iPad Settings | Celular Data | APN to read. Internet.telecom.co.nz. Maybe that did it, or maybe it all just took some time to heat settled on the net I set it up about five hours ago.

Chances are it was your APN :) Glad to hear all is well! Have you attached a data plan to it? You might want to do that. Casual data is $1/day otherwise, for up to 10mb.
