So my bother an I both have iphone 4'.

I am on Telecom and he is on Vodafail.

We were talking about why MMS wasnt working between us. Anyway we got that working using the fantastic App Dan provided. However during our conversations he mentioned something about turning 3g on. Long story short he can and does his phone with 3g turned OFF and gets network coverage.

I, with Telecom, on the other hand use my phone with 3g turned on 100% of the time. If i turn it off I loose all network coverage and "No Service" comes up.

I was just curious as to the reason for this and or others experience on the various networks.

Thanks in advance.

James

Hi – Quick answer – Vodafone has cell signals that are both 3G & 2G, but your XT signals are 3G only. I would think he'd do well to keep 3G turned on… it could be the reason he wasn't able to send or receive MMS.

Cheers,

Mike
