Hello everybody,
Can anybody provide some info on visual voicemail and its availability on NZ networks?
I don't remember having it on Voda and I surely don't have it now on XT.
Finally, is this a network dependent feature or a iPhone one? Are there any official/unofficial apps out there that can provide this functionality?

Visual Voicemail is carrier dependent. XT/2Degrees won't have it unless they become official carriers and then have the software/hardware in the cell towers/exchanges to support it. Vodafone have been asked this a number of times and have on occasion said they are working on it, however we are yet to see anything. Vodafone in Australia certainly have it so it is something that could come to Vodafone NZ…. but when?? your guess is as good as mine.

the iPhone can do it but I guess the provider needs to have that facility enabled.
I'll see if I can ask someone in the XT dept if they know something about that ever happening.

It'll only ever happen on an "Official Carrier" and even then they have to install the right equipment to get it to work. Not sure what is taking Vodafone NZ so long to get it done. I asked them about it back when the 3G first came out and they said they were looking into it then!
