hey team, been using vodafone on my iphone, decided to go onto xt, swaped over sim cards and installed the carrier bundle, i have the no service sign on the top left of phone and the padlock in middle, when i search carriers on the phone it only finds vodafone.

please help

Hi Mullsta

As quoted from this post:

"The #1 cause of not being able to find XT is having 3G disabled, so let's check that. Go to settings –> general –> network and check that 'enable 3G' is set to 'on'. Because XT is a 3G-only network with no 2G signal whatsoever if you have 3G disabled your iPhone simply won't see it."

No it can't. As Allan said XT is 3G only and will only work on the 3G or 3GS.

o thats good to know, cheers mate, what about 2 degrees? is that able to work on 2g as i dont wana be stuck on vodafone

It will work on 2degrees' current 2G network (which is mostly VFNZ towers anyway). It won't work on their 3G network when it's released.

Correct – granted your phone remains unlocked via jailbreak. If you update to new firmware in iTunes you could possibly lose the ability to use the phone out of the US forever.
